AYN RAND‘S DRAMAS AS PRETEXTS TO HER NOVELS

Abstract. The article for the first time analyzes Ayn Rand’s early dramas ("Night of January 16^th", "Ideal", "Think Twice") as pretexts to her novels. Special attention is paid to axiological component in such pretextual elements of writer’s dramaturgy as objective physical world, idiomatics, characters and their values, gender relations, and story lines. The analysis identified that Ayn Rand’s dramaturgy is an important stage in the evolution of her conception of a human and his place in the society, his values and ideals. Later on this conception manifested itself in her own philosophy of objectivism.
