Nikulina Dar'ya Evgen'evna

Abstract. The relevance of the work is connected with the fact that in the modern world political discourse becomes an independent semantic field - a reality that exists and develops according to certain laws. The article specifies the notions "discourse" in general and "political discourse" in particular and deals with various approaches in the linguistic study of political discourse. The author comes to the conclusion that political discourse is a specific type of discourse, since it affects the movement of political processes.
