MANIPULATIVE TECHNIQUES AND TECHNOLOGIES IN THE WEEKLY NEWSPAPER "ARGUMENTY I FAKTY" ("ARGUMENTS AND FACTS")

Abstract. The article examines manipulative technologies in mass media, analyzes different manipulative techniques in the pages of weekly newspaper "Argumenty i Fakty" ("Arguments and Facts"). The author proposes her own classification of the techniques to manipulate public consciousness in print media and concludes that manipulative techniques and technologies can be classified as implicit and explicit. According to the nature of subject perception, the technologies of media-influence used in weekly newspaper are divided into propagandistic devices and devices presupposing the usage of a dialogic form.
