SEMANTICS AND MEANS OF TOLERANCE EXPRESSION IN THE MODERN GERMAN LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article is devoted to the description of the semantics and means of tolerance expression in the modern German language. The analysis of the empirical material collected in lexicographical sources and modern media texts has shown that tolerance is a complex multidimensional notion. The author highlights the main semantic components of the notion under examination and provides a brief overview of the ways to implement the principles of tolerance in the modern German linguo-culture. Extensive illustrative material is presented to confirm the theoretical positions.
