Abstract. The article discusses the features of a dictation construction as a secondary text. The research is based on the dictations from the collection by V. F. Mazilova that have a famous work of fiction as a proto-basis. Educational texts are analyzed at the derivational level with the ascertainment of a specific type of changes in the original text. The processes of complication, simplification and original lexemes replacement while the primary fiction text adapting for educational purposes are revealed. The obtained data are presented in the quantitative correlation. The reasons for such transformations of the original during an educational text creation are found out.
