SPECIFICITY OF V. PELEVIN’s POSTMODERNIST PROSe OF THE 1990s: SOME OBSERVATIONS

Abstract. In the article, a stylistic analysis of V. Pelevin’s works is carried out; their typical postmodernist features and characteristics are singled out. Pelevin’s creativity, as well as the culture of postmodernism, is based on the ideas of new humanism, it is a kind of transition from a classical anthropological model to universal humanism that includes not only the whole mankind, but also everything alive, the nature, the cosmos and the universe. It is established that the key features of V. Pelevin’s prose of the 1990s are the following: irony, literary play, author’s death, hypertext and oriental motifs.
