CLASSIFYING THE TYPES OF EVIDENTIALITY ACCORDING TO THE SUBJECT OF COMMUNICATION IN THE SPACE OF MODERN ARTISTIC DISCOURSE

Abstract. The article examines linguistic means expressing the meanings of the category "evidentiality" in the English language and their realization in the space of modern artistic discourse. Linguo-synergy considers evidentiality as a modus category since it allows the addressee not only to identify the source of information, but also to interpret and evaluate it. Specificity of the category "evidentiality" causes the necessity to apply a discursive context analysis; here the problem of distinguishing between the author’s and personages’ statements is of special importance. Consequently, there appears the necessity to study the author’s and personages’ evidentiality in the discourse.
