THE STRUCTURAL AND SEMANTIC ANALYSIS OF THE ENGLISH PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS WITH THE MEANING "PERSON’S CHARACTER"

Abstract. The article studies the questions of the lexical system of the English language, namely phraseology. Recognition of the systemic organization of groups of phraseological units makes it possible to establish the specificity of the group of phraseological units with the meaning "person’s character", its semantic and structural-grammatical subtypes. It is proved that the analyzed units form a kind of microsystem, which has the properties of the systemic character of the language, including all types of relations inherent in the phraseological system of the language as a whole, namely syntagmatic, gender and aspect, paradigmatic, and so on.
