INTER-DISCURSIVE NATURE OF THE METAPHOR OF MODERN ENGLISH-LANGUAGE ECONOMIC DISCOURSE (BY THE EXAMPLE OF "THE ECONOMIST" JOURNAL)

Abstract. The article emphasizes the relevance of studying metaphors of modern English economic discourse as a factor promoting the approach and mutual penetration of different types of discourse in the texts of the English-language electronic journal "The Economist" in the sphere of economy and finance. Special attention is paid to inter-discursive nature of the metaphors in cognitive space. When introducing new vocabulary the information on its source of borrowing contributes to its quick memorization and acquisition by students, thus enriching their active vocabulary.
