Abstract. The article is devoted to the comparative study of the adjectival phraseological units of the English and Tatar languages. The topicality of the research is conditioned by the significance of adjectival phraseological units for understanding the mentality peculiarities of the representatives of different linguocultures and improving the process of crosscultural communication, as the analyzed phraseological units demonstrate both the common and the different in relation to this or that phenomenon of reality. The authors review the scientific literature devoted to the study of adjectival phraseological units, and they present the results of their own research. The novelty of the study is that the classification of adjectival phraseological units based on the conducted analysis of their structural-semantic peculiarities is suggested.
