Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of the linguistic means of suggestive influence in English analytical articles. The texts of analytical articles that are complex structures, whose pragmatic content is impact on the reader with the purpose of suggesting and forming unconscious attitudes, are considered. The work aims at conducting the contextual analysis of linguistic means for studying the phenomenon of suggestion in modern English. The researchers develop the thesis that in order to form certain beliefs and to increase influencing force in the analytical newspaper text, the author of the article resorts to the means of suggestive influence, using the suggestive potential of lexico-syntactic means. The analysis of linguistic material has shown that the presence of lexico-syntactic means in the text space of newspapers realizes a new turn of perception that opens the field of suggestion.
