COGNITIVE AND PSYCHOLOGICAL PARADIGMS OF TRANSLATION AS BILINGUAL SPEECH ACTIVITY

Abstract. The article proposes theoretical and methodological tools to study translation in the cognitive and psycholinguistic aspect. Cognitive and psycholinguistic features of translation are described according to the following parameters: 1) degree of information transfer; 2) correlation of deep and surface structures and conformity of surface structures to the source language and target language; 3) adequacy of verbal images in the source language and target language; 4) quality of inner speech processing; 5) translatorТs competences, strategies and individual style. The findings can be used while developing a cognitive and psycholinguistic algorithm for studying translation, teaching translation and assessing translation quality.
