TRANSFORMED PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS IN D. H. LAWRENCE’S NOVEL "THE PLUMED SERPENT" AND THEIR TRANSLATION INTO RUSSIAN

Abstract. For the first time the article analyses phraseological units from D. H. Lawrence’s novel "The Plumed Serpent". The researcher justifies relevance of this problem, identifies specificity of the writer’s artistic manner, which involves using a wide range of phraseological units, provides examples of the author’s transformations of phraseological units and classifies them according to the established classification of phraseological units’ contextual usage, analyses translation of the mentioned phraseological units into Russian. Conclusions are drawn about diversity of phraseological units in the novel and quality of their translation.
