CONTENT OF THE TERM "COMMENTARY" IN A SCIENTIFIC TEXT AND IN USUAL USE

Abstract. The article discusses the content of the term "commentary". The purpose of the work is to identify the features of this term use in scientific literature, journalism and edition practice. For this, a component analysis of the definitions of the word "commentary" in explanatory dictionaries and an analysis of individual semes are carried out. The use of the term in textologists’ classifications is also investigated. It is hypothesized that differences in the use of this lexeme and, consequently, the term in various discourses are conditioned by the authors’ pragmatic attitude. The problem of difference in this term semantization by textologists and philologists is revealed.
