LEXICAL CONNOTATION IN WORD-FORMATION PROCESSES

Abstract. The article describes the phenomenon of lexical connotation in the context of inflection and word-formation. The changes of connotative semes during modification and mutation, within the framework of affix word-formation, at the level of sub-morphs and stem allusions, as well as grammatical word-formation are analysed. The author proposes a prospect of considering connotation as a complex lexical-grammatical and word-formation phenomenon in modern Russian with the use of colloquial speech material, as well as non-literary forms of the language existence, including folk dialects and jargons.
