CHARACTERISTIC FEATURES OF A MODERN LANGUAGE EXPRESSED IN ITS COMMUNICATIVE AND MENTAL FUNCTIONS

Abstract. The article is devoted to the current problem of expanding the understanding of the functionality of a modern language through the study of a number of its characteristic features. The author describes how our verbal expressions help to convey our observations, thoughts, feelings, emotions and needs. The work specifies the expressiveness, power and humorousness of a language revealed in its active functions of communication and thinking. Special attention is paid to the development of the emotional vocabulary of expressiveness, the power of a language as a means of control and humorousness based on the relationship of a language and meaning.
