"ALL BOYS WRITE POETRY": CHILDHOOD THEME IN ANATOLY SHTEIGER’S LYRICS

Abstract. The article considers childhood theme in the lyrical poetry by Anatoly Shteiger, one of the vivid representatives of "Parisian note". The paper identifies the peculiarities of Shteiger’s poetical worldview associated with "Petersburg poetics", which the poet adopted due to G. Adamovich’s influence. Childhood theme in Shteiger’s interpretation is associated with the themes of memory, death and nostalgia that is mostly in tune with the general trend of ?migr? literature of the "first wave". With Shteiger childhood theme is characterized by anti-pastoral motives representing the author’s reflection on ?migr? life of the "unnoticed generation", to which the author referred himself. Interpreting childhood theme through numerous allusions Shteiger reveals the acmeistic orientation of his lyrics that is a typical feature of "Parisian note" poetry.
