LYRICAL AND EPICAL HERITAGE OF THE CHELYABINSK TATARS

Abstract. The article analyses the lyrical and epical heritage of the Tatars residing in Chelyabinsk region of the Russian Federation. The authors for the first time systematize and subject to analytical processing the lyrical and epical folkloric materials gathered in different periods among the Tatar-speaking informants of this region. The paper describes general structural and semantic peculiarities of archival texts, identifies the place and role of dastan versions in the system of the all-Turkic lyrical and epical folklore, and emphasizes the necessity for scientific popularization of such compositions. The study took into account all the published and archival material on the Tatars’ dastan heritage recorded in the region.
