Phraseological Pseudo-Anglicisms as Relevant Nominations in the Modern German Language

Abstract. The purpose of the article is to identify phraseological pseudo-Anglicisms in the modern German language. Scientific novelty of the study lies in ascertaining the fact of phraseological units formation from the English-language components in the countries of the German-speaking area and substantiating their status of pseudo-Anglicisms. The attained results have shown that relevant pseudo-Anglicisms of the German language are represented not only by words but also by lexical phrases. The work proves that, along with borrowing from the English vocabulary, formation of pseudo-Anglicisms plays a significant role in enriching the vocabulary of the modern German language.
