Abstract. The article examines semantic variants of the mythologeme "tree" in the novel "Bear Fold" by the Yugra writer P. S. Bakhlykov. The paper aims to identify functional peculiarities of the mythologeme as a key component of the novel’s artistic space. Scientific originality of the study is conditioned by the fact that P. Bakhlykov’s novel is for the first time analysed from this viewpoint. The following conclusions are justified: the author’s interpretation of the tree image allows reconstructing the mytho-poetical worldview based on archetypes of the Russian and Khanty culture.
Key words and phrases: П. С. Бахлыков, роман "Медвежья падь", мифологема, Мировое древо, Древо жизни, P. S. Bakhlykov, novel "Bear Fold", mythologeme, World Tree, Tree of Life
