Abstract. The article considers the problem of speech production process modelling. A situational model of speech production developed on the basis of a comparative analysis of some psycholinguistic models shows relation of a speech situation and the statement generation process. The author describes an activity-based four-phase model and analyses continuous influence of a speech situation, which, in its turn, is determined by the generated statement that transforms it, which leads to achieving the overall extra-linguistic purpose.
