Abstract. The Yukaghir language has a rich word-formation system. The Yukaghir verbs are formed mainly by the suffixal method. Derivational suffixes often transfer the slightest nuances of the verb meaning. The research objective is to identify and describe the basic means to express inceptiveness in the Kolyma dialect of the Yukaghir language (the Forest Yukaghir language). Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that relying on an analysis of linguistic material, the author for the first time highlights linguistic markers of inceptiveness in the Forest Yukaghir language. Some of the identified markers have not been previously investigated. The conclusion is made that in the Forest Yukaghir language, inceptiveness is expressed by both grammatical (verb forms with inceptive semantics) and non-grammatical (analytical) means.
