Submitted: 19.07.2020
Abstract. The research objective includes identifying the structure, subject and functions of lexical maxims as regulatives in stories of the Ossetian writer A. B. Kaitukov. Scientific originality of the paper lies in the fact that the researcher for the first time examines lexical maxims (tropes, words of moral and ethical content, etc.) in the Ossetian literary text in the aspect of the regulativity theory. The conducted research allows identifying maxims, which serve as the basic regulatory means of characterizing males with different social statuses (names of wild and domestic animals, birds and inanimate objects - fire).
Key words and phrases: коммуникативная стилистика художественного текста, лексические максимы, регулятивность, А. Б. Кайтуков, communicative stylistics of literary text, lexical maxims, regulativity, A. B. Kaitukov
