Digital Tools for Analysing Speech Prosody

Abstract. The article introduces a phrase prosody analysis tool developed and approved within the framework of studying the gender factor influence on communicants’ speech prosody (American English). The research objective includes developing a convenient and efficient tool (computer program) for analysing phrase prosody. Scientific originality of the paper includes an innovative approach to a phrase prosody analysis that allows automating processes and shifting the focus to the prosodic characteristics under study. The research findings are as follows: relying on personal experience of using prosody analysis software, the author has created a computer program "Prosody 1.0" to analyse prosodic arrangement of a phrase in the English language.
