Variations in Translation of Attributive Infinitive from English into Russian: By the Material of ‘The Economist’ and ‘WCO News’ Magazines

Abstract. The study aims to provide an insight into specifics of translating the attributive infinitive from English into Russian analysing materials from the magazines ‘The Economist’ and ‘WCO News’. Scientific novelty of the research lies in finding new ways of translating the infinitive in the position of an attribute never described in literature before. The attained results have shown that the attributive infinitive can be translated using attributive clauses containing word forms with the meaning of causation or concession, modal verbs in the subjunctive mood. The work has identified variability of translating the attributive infinitive from English into Russian.
