Translation Mistakes as a Result of Linguistic Interference of the English Language (by the Example of Students’ Works)

Abstract. The study aims to determine the role of linguistic interference in translation activity. The article examines typological characteristics of the English language and identifies the main types of translation mistakes. Scientific originality of the paper involves an analysis and classification of students’ interferential mistakes when performing educational translation. As a result, it was found that transfer of linguistic characteristics from the English language into Russian causes most of students’ translation mistakes; the role of translation transformations in solving this problem is revealed.
