Abstract. The purpose of the research is to consider the category of infinitive writing in the creative work of Vyacheslav Ar-Sergi, a modern Udmurt poet and prose writer. The paper attempts to study the phenomenon of the infinitive code as a means of expressing the individual author’s poetic principle. The compositional-grammatical, figurative-motivic features and internal psychological subtexts of representation of lyrical infinitivity are being determined. Scientific novelty of the paper lies in identifying the features of infinitive writing in the system of poems, taking into account the author’s bilingualism involved in creating works in Russian. As a result of interpreting the body of V. Ar-Sergi’s poetic works, the researcher has come to the conclusion that important author’s maxims are conveyed, the expressive potential of the poet’s individual style is expanded through infinitive writing, among other things.
