Onomasticon of Tatar Written Sources (by the Example of the Written Monument "Daftar-i Chingiz-name")

Abstract. The aim of the study is to identify the semantic and structural-grammatical features of onomastic units in the Tatar written source "Daftar-i Chingiz-name" by the anonymous author (the XVII-XVIII centuries). The scientific originality of the work is due to the fact that the onomastic units of the Tatar language of the XVII-XVIII centuries are for the first time subjected to lexico-grammatical description and systematization. Basing on the analysis, three groups of onyms are distinguished: anthroponyms, toponyms and hydronyms. As a result of our analysis, it has been revealed that onomastic units of written sources are a means of transmitting ethnocultural information in the Tatar people’s ideas, a source for studying the Tatar language onomastics.
