Verbal and Non-Verbal Means of Communicating the Creator’s Alternative Consciousness in V. V. Nolletov’s Novella "Ward No. 8"

Abstract. The study aims to construct a system of conceptual coordinates with the "creator" origin in a double context that corresponds to the narrative strategy employed by V. V. Nolletov, the author of the novella "Ward No. 8"; to outline verbal and non-verbal means of communicating the creator’s alternative consciousness, using the example of a specific literary image. Scientific novelty of the paper lies in an integrative approach to the issue of personal self-expression, an unstandardised explication of the notion of "alternative consciousness", an accentuated interpretation of an informative local text that actualised the traditional conflict between the writer and society. As a result, the researcher has proved the consistency of the "intelligence type - consciousness type - communication means" relational correlate, has compiled a multicomponent paradigm of verbal and non-verbal ways of expressing creative non-unified individuality.
