Reconstructing the Deep Meaning of M. Lokhvitskaya’s and A. Levy’s Amorous Poetry through an Ambivalent Image of Nature

Abstract. The paper aims to decode the deep meaning of a poetic work through the study of its two-level semantic structure and ambivalent image of nature by compiling figurative-associative paradigms of epithets, using Mirra Lokhvitskaya’s and Amy Levy’s poetic heritage. Scientific novelty lies in carrying out a typological analysis of the "joy -sadness" dichotomy in the amorous poetry of the English and Russian poetesses at the turn of the XIX and XX centuries by conducting a lexico-stylistic, semantic and contextual analysis of the text. As a result, the researcher has obtained data indicating the presence of two meanings in the texts, the main one being "sadness".
