SOCIAL-HISTORICAL PROCESS OF THE UZBEK WRITTEN LANGUAGE TRANSITION TO THE LATIN SCRIPT

Abstract. Today the problems connected with the transition from Cyrillic to Latin script are actual not only for Uzbekistan but for all the republics of Central Asian region. On the basis of the historical data the author tries to reveal the necessity of the transition of the Uzbek written language to the Latin script although it is not new as the Uzbek people's heritage has been published in several scripts: ancient Aramaic, Arabian, Latin and Cyrillic.
