EGOHISTORIES AS THE SELF-PORTRAIT OF "THE THIRD GENERATION" OF THE FRENCH HISTORICAL ANNALES SCHOOL

Abstract. In the article the project "Essays of Egohistories" concerning the most important events of modern times and professional fate and edited by Pierre Nora (Editions Gallimard) in 1987 as the way of the subjective evidence of modern historians who were mainly the representatives of the French historical Annales school is considered. The main attention is given to the social characteristics of Annales movement of the 1950-1970s which allow adequately apprehending the creative motivation and subject orientations of this historical school being at the height of its world-wide influence during the period under consideration.
