COLLECTIVE FARMS OF SMOLENSK PROVINCE IN 1919

Abstract. In the article the state of collective land use within the territory of Smolensk province in 1919 is analyzed on the basis of archival materials. The author considers the agrarian policy of Bolsheviks concerning the introduction of collective economic management in rural areas by the example of some province districts and concludes that no such farm became profitable during that period.
