CINEMA BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT IN PENZA REGION IN THE 1920S

Abstract. The article tackles the state of cinema business in Penza region in the 1920s. The author deals with the problems of cinematograph circumstances, the struggle for cinema work quality, for the privileged cinema service for working districts and villages. Basing on archival data the author makes the conclusion about the high popularity of this kind of shows among working-people and peasants and also about the fact that cinema performed an important function of working people artistic and ideological education.
