Abstract. The article is devoted to the consideration of the structure and basic directions of the activity of regional Public Prosecutor's Offices of the USSR during the first post-war years (by the example of Public Prosecutor's Office of Pskov region). The author reflects the specificity of its formation in a newly formed region, presents the functional duties of the divisions of central and regional Public Prosecutor's Offices and pays attention to the importance of the use of state-legal traditions of the past in modern practice.
