PERESLAVL' DISTRICT AND DEVOTEES OF ANCIENT GODLINESS IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XVIITH CENTURY

Abstract. The author considers the problems of Pereslavl' district development in the XVIIth century and their possible influence on Old Believers' expansion in the region, pays special attention to the reasons of the weak development of ancient godliness movement in Pereslavl' district and studies the questions of social, economic and demographic development of the region and the peculiarities of rural land arrangement.
