Abstract. The author considers the phenomenon of social archetype and theoretical constructions that allow explaining this phenomenon in different social-philosophical paradigms, attaches particular importance to the structure of social archetype and its social-cultural roots, especially religious ones; and substantiates the thesis that the role of social archetype in modern societies significantly increases due to the tendency of post-secular society.
