RESETTLEMENT MOVEMENT IN AMUR REGION AT THE TURN OF THE XIXTH-XXTH CENTURIES

Abstract. The author considers the problem of peasant resettlement to Amur lands at the end of the XIXth - the beginning of the XXth century, solves the problem of the detailed consideration of the colonization process to the Far East by the example of peasant resettlement to Amur region, shows that Amur region remoteness from the center of the country, the littleness of the funds allocated to resettlement affairs and communication difficulties complicated the resettlement of agricultural population, and comes to the conclusion that, despite the assistance provided by the government, local authorities and charities, peasants experienced great hardships for several years of placement in the region that had a negative impact on the settlers' further firm economic arrangement.
