TOPONYMY, LOCUS AND TOPOS OF SMALL STREETS IN PARADIGM OF SEMIOTICS

Abstract. The cultural text of a street consists of the great number of meaningful signs. Spatial code is perceived directly and in comparison with image-idea. The memory of place is formed from urbanonyms and mythologemes. The semiotics of urban space is in contact with axiology. Small streets locus is conglomerations of urban fabric, urban history and cultural geography with reference to a place, it is the populated universe of a townsman. Small streets loci are genetically related to settlements in many Russian historical cities. The topos of small streets is loci immersed in culture.
