ROLE OF NARROW-GAUGE RAILROAD IN SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT OF MAL'TSOV INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIXTH CENTURY

Abstract. The author presents the general characteristic of Mal'tsov industrial district that was formed in the second half of the XIXth century and was a leading region in Russia (the so-called America in Russia), shows the emergence of narrow-gauge railroads in this district and their significance in the social development of Russia as a whole. This event became the factor of economic and social connections development uniting the region with market and human relations.
