LOCAL SELF-ADMINISTRATION IN THE RUSSIAN STATE OF THE END OF THE XVTH - THE BEGINNING OF THE XVITH CENTURY

Abstract. Analyzing act material of the end of the XVth - the beginning of the XVIth century the author reveals new evidence that local self-administration in its traditional forms dominated in local problems solution over the bodies representing central authority during the initial period of the unified Russian state formation, and undertakes the attempt to actualize N. P. Pavlov-Sil'vanskii's opinion with respect to the given period that "the essence of medieval volost'" was in self-administration, but not in communal land ownership.
