T. PARSONS'S LAW COMPREHENSION FEATURES: FUNCTIONAL APPROACH

Abstract. The author studies particular approach to law cognition within the framework of T. Parsons's sociological-legal theory, shows that the basis of his views is structural functionalism; according to T. Parsons society consists of four subsystems - economic, political, fiduciary and legal ones, and these subsystems consequently perform the functions of adaptation, goal achievement, sample reproduction and integration; and comes to the conclusion that T. Parsons's law comprehension feature is the tendency to explain law through its functions in society and state - it is given the function of social cohesion through balance and interests harmony ensuring, and those problems and social processes that should be subjected to normative regulation are revealed through the knowledge of law functions.
