Abstract. The author undertakes the attempt to search the ways out of modernity crisis for Russia, which is comparable to civilizational one in scale, pays attention to the analysis of the reasons of crisis and motivation decline, the role of self-determination in citizenship and solidarity formation, considers some topical problems of self-determination methodology and practice, and substantiates the way of difficulties overcoming in an individual's socialization by means of the reorganization of an individual's motivation methods system, value system, education system.
