Abstract. The author discusses the problem of traditional Ossetian society transformation in the course of the intercultural interaction between Ossetia and Russia in the second half of the XIX^th - the beginning of the XX^th century, reveals the cause-effect relation of the modernization transformations of traditional daily life, and pays particular attention to such its structures as dwelling and clothes, which palliative nature becomes the most vivid illustration of significant transformations in the Ossetians' traditional culture under the influence of the Russian culture.
