Abstract. The author, basing on archival material, reconstructs the history of one of the first women’s educational institutions formation in Trans-Baikal region. The article covers the daily life and activity of the educational establishment, presents data on teaching stuff, the quantitative and class structure of students, and considers the questions of financing. The author shows the important role of the college, which had not only special significance for girls’ teaching, but also stimulated the development of women’s education in the region.
