Abstract. The article is devoted to the question of changing the social composition of cadets from the flying clubs of the Society for Assistance to Defence, Aviation, and Chemical Construction and the flight schools of the USSR Air Force during last pre-war years. Within its framework, the dynamics of the state policy regarding military aviation recruiting with the representatives of different social strata is studied. The estimation of how the change in the social composition of the flying clubs and schools of Air Force was reflected in the process of personnel training for military aviation is given.
