M. SCHWARZMAN’S SYMBOLICAL LANGUAGE

Tyugaeva Kseniya Olegovna
Saint-Petersburg University of Humanities and Social Sciences

Abstract. The article considers symbolical language in M. Schwarzman’s pictorial creativity, by which means the artist creates dialogue with the viewer. The notion "symbol" and its manifestation in hieratic art as an image, which is formed in the viewer’s consciousness at the moment of the perception of the artist’s plastic creativity are substantiated. Symbolical language is analyzed both by the example of Schwarzman’s plastic (images) and verbal (images names) creativity, which in aggregate reveals the idea of the artist’s paintings. Consequently the thesis on hieratic sign as a symbol that helps the viewer comprehend the sense of hieratic painting, the problem of which interpretation still exists at the present time, is put forward.
