MODERN SIBERIAN ICONOGRAPHY: AXIOLOGICAL AND STYLISTIC FOUNDATIONS

Abstract. The author reveals the basic metamorphoses of contemporary iconography in Siberia, tells that a master’s axiology, on condition of invariable theoretical purposes and ecclesiastical control absence, is modified due to the transition from the secular character of creativity to the sacred one, and comes to the conclusion that the folk icons of Siberia, as a model of regional identity, are not in high demand as stylistic standards, but they have retrospective and topical value for society as a museum exhibit and a member of cult activities.
