SMALL STREETS STUDY: CLASSICAL METHODS

Abstract. The author considers classical methods, by which it is possible to conduct the effective scientific study of small streets in historic towns, presents the comparison of the research instruments typical of historical-architectural, historical-genetic, inductive and local history methods, reveals the features of various directions of the comparative studies applicable to the consideration of small streets, and pays special attention to the prospects and limits of the classical paradigm of urban environment study, conditioned by technological progress.
