STUDENTS CONTINGENT IN PRIVATE WOMEN’S GYMNASIUMS OF MOSCOW (BY THE EXAMPLE OF GYMNASIUMS OF Z. D. PEREPELKINA (1880-1906) AND M. G. BRYUKHONENKO (1906-1918))

Abstract. The author conducts a detailed analysis of the class, age and religious composition of students in private gymnasiums of Moscow at the turn of the XIX th-XX th centuries by the example of not previously used archival materials of gymnasiums of Z. D. Perepelkina and M. G. Bryukhonenko, and as a result comes to the conclusion about a very diverse social composition of students at these educational institutions, which was the consequence of the high need of society in meeting the demand for secondary education.
